Mehndi, Henna; A Tradition

Girls are crazy about beautiful designs of Mehndi on their hands in the weddings and Eid occasions. This art work is popular in some countries mostly in Pakistan and India , Bangladesh and Africa too. It is created by some leaves of the Henna plants like turmeric powder. In ancient time, our ancestors put this turmeric powder on their hands and feet for creativity.
The standard colour of Mehndi, Henna is brown but with advance technology and machinery period, it is transformed in different colours like red, green as well as gold. Women originally put this art on their palm and feet but sometime men do this too. But now, men are silly to wear it more commonly.
At weddings in Pakistan and India, a specific function of the Mehndi namely MEHNDI. The Bride or the Groom wear yellow colour dresses and sit in the middle of any decorated room. The sisters, cousins and other relatives, which are invited , put some mixture of Henna on the palm of the bride and the groom with singing songs in their melodic voice. In Pakistan, women applied Henna on Islamic occasions like Eid and their weddings. Mainly in India, Mehndi used in Hindu Weddings, Brahman Weddings, Hindu festivals  like Diwali and Bhai Dhooj.
It is applied by a brown and golden plastic cone but prior to this , this was paste form and was put by a wooden stick. In my childhood, I noticed that girls applied on their hands and left freely for the whole night. In next day, this mud showed the dark brown colour. But now, leaving hands and feet freely for 15 to 20 minutes after applying, the mud dry and presents in cracker form and then remove through tissue and wash the decorated palms. So finally, reddish brown colour is the result in this struggle.
Henna has a great significance role in performing our tradition at different occasions, nonetheless.
